Who we are
About Tony Myers, D.Min.
Early Life and Calling
Born November 21, 1970, in Queensland, Australia, Tony is the oldest of seven siblings in a blended family. He moved to Clarkston, Michigan, in 1984—just in time to watch the Detroit Tigers win the World Series. Tony began his studies at Michigan State University’s Lyman Briggs and Honors College in 1988 with plans to pursue medicine and become a pediatrician. But God had other plans.
In 1991, Tony experienced God’s transforming grace personally, and soon after met Amy. They married the week after graduating from college in 1993, and as newlyweds helped launch a new church plant and led the missions team. God nurtured in them a growing sense of calling to ministry and in 1995 desiring to prepare for missionary service, Tony enrolled in seminary.
Mission Work in Bulgaria
Tony earned his Master of Divinity from Columbia Biblical Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1999. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) the following year and, on May 15, 2000, Tony and Amy—with their two young children—moved to Sofia, Bulgaria, to join a church-planting team with Mission to the World. During nearly a decade of ministry there, their family grew to include four children.
Pastoral Ministry in the United States
After returning to the United States, Tony served as Pastor of Spiritual Formation (Discipleship) at Northeast PCA in Columbia, South Carolina (1999–2016). In 2015, he completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He went on to serve as Senior Pastor at St. Paul’s EPC in Somerset, Pennsylvania (2016–2021), and later joined the staff at Mercy PCA in Forest, Virginia (2022–2024). In 2024, Tony accepted the call to serve as Shepherding Pastor at Trinity PCA in Lakeland, Florida.
Heart for Ministry
Tony’s heart is to shepherd God’s people with compassion and grace. He walks alongside others through seasons of discouragement, disillusionment, and despair—helping them rediscover hope in the gospel. His passion is to equip believers to care for one another and to apply biblical truth to all of life’s opportunities and challenges.
Life and Interests
Outside of ministry, Tony enjoys spending time on the pickleball court, playing with his Maltipoo, Penny, working in the yard, walking with Amy, and learning new home-improvement skills from YouTube.
